Food & Hotel Digital Week July will explore how the industry is responding to COVID-19 by ushering in new norms, technologies and practices, and help identify the silver linings to the crisis.

Overview

The road to recovery and a new norm for hospitality will consist of pristinely hygienic and secure establishments that safeguard and serve fewer customers, redefining the value proposition amid a swirl of local health and safety measures. How should hospitality players redefine their business models? Value propositions will be shaped in the context of guests used to social interaction pre COVID-19 now needing to observe higher hygiene standards and varied social-distancing requirements. Technology will no doubt play a big part in creating a more disciplined experience. Will digital transformation lead to further deployment of automation and robotics in hospitality, an industry whose foundation is delivering high-quality, client-facing human interactions?

Ever since she was young, Jing Qin has always been fascinated by the workings of a kitchen. Spending time with her grandmother fueled her aspirations to become a chef. Now, in her young career, she’s worked alongside Michelin-starred chefs like Michael Anthony (Gramercy Tavern) in New Yorks’s Untitled at the Whitney, and Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten to open The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar in Singapore. Now a Sous Chef with Singapore Expo, she also actively competes for the Singapore National Junior Culinary Team, with numerous awards including two consecutive championships for Alen Thong Coffeepot Challenge in Abu Dhabi.

In this demo session, we will be looking at incorporating Singapore’s very own local sustainable & organic foods from our local farms, to showcase Asian flavors with a twist.
